Yingkou City is located in the southern part of Liaoning Province, on the banks of Liaodong Bay in the Bohai Sea. It is the earliest commercial port opened in Northeast China. The total area of the city is 5402 square kilometers, with 4 districts (Zhanqian District, Xishi District, Bayuquan District, Laobian District) and 2 cities (Dashiqiao City, Gaizhou City) under its jurisdiction, and a permanent population of 2.287 million people (2022 data). In 2022, the total regional GDP of the city reached 143.65 billion yuan.
Yingkou is an important port city in China and a crucial node in the revitalization of the old industrial base in Northeast China. It is known as the "century old port city" and the "pearl of Bohai", and is an important part of the China (Liaoning) Pilot Free Trade Zone. It is also an important window for the opening up of Northeast China to the outside world.
