Tieling City is located in the northern part of Liaoning Province, in the middle of the Songliao Plain, and is the regional center city of northern Liaoning. The total area of the city is 13000 square kilometers, with 2 districts (Yinzhou District, Qinghe District), 3 counties (Tieling County, Xifeng County, Changtu County), and 2 county-level cities (Diaobingshan City, Kaiyuan City) under its jurisdiction, and a permanent population of 2.386 million people (2022 data). In 2022, the total regional GDP of the city reached 71.68 billion yuan.
Tieling is an important national commodity grain base and energy production base, known as the "granary of northern Liaoning" and the "hometown of sketch art". It is the hometown of comedy celebrities such as Zhao Benshan, as well as an important modern agricultural demonstration zone and coal industry base in Liaoning Province.
