Jilin City is the second largest city in Jilin Province and the only city in China with the same name as a province or city. The total area of the city is 27120 square kilometers, with 4 districts (Chuanying District, Changyi District, Longtan District, Fengman District), 4 counties (Yongji County, Shulan City, Panshi City, Jiaohe City), and 1 national high-tech zone (Jilin High tech Zone) under its jurisdiction, with a permanent population of 3.623 million people (2022 data). In 2022, the total regional GDP of the city reached 151.03 billion yuan.
Jilin City is an important national chemical base and ice and snow tourism city, known as the "Northern River City" and "City of rime". It is an important transportation hub in Northeast China and an important pivot city for Jilin Province's "One Main and Six Double" high-quality development strategy.
