Baicheng City is located in the northwest of Jilin Province, at the junction of Jilin, Heilongjiang, and Inner Mongolia provinces. It is an important ecological barrier and energy base in Jilin Province. The total area of the city is 26000 square kilometers, with jurisdiction over 1 district (Taobei District), 2 counties (Tongyu County, Zhenlai County), and 2 county-level cities (Taonan City, Da'an City), with a permanent population of 1.553 million people (2022 data). In 2022, the total regional GDP of the city reached 61.58 billion yuan.
Baicheng City is an important national commodity grain base and clean energy base, known as the "Hexiang" and "Wind Power Town". It is the location of world-class A-level wetlands, national level nature reserves, and offshore wetlands. It is also an important ecological economic zone in Jilin Province's "One Main and Six Double" high-quality development strategy.
