Overview of Hengshui City
Hengshui is located in the southeast of Hebei Province, in the hinterland of the North China Plain, and is an important node city of the Beijing Tianjin Hebei urban agglomeration. The total area of the city is 8836 square kilometers, with 2 districts (Taocheng District and Jizhou District), 1 city (Shenzhou City), and 8 counties (Zaoqiang County, Wuyi County, Wuqiang County, Raoyang County, Anping County, Gucheng County, Jing County, and Fucheng County) under its jurisdiction. The permanent population is 4.213 million people (2022 data). In 2022, the total regional GDP of the city will reach 1700.5 billion yuan.
Hengshui is a national garden city and a model city for dual support in China. It is known as the "Northern Lake City" and "Education City", and is renowned throughout the country for its Hengshui Middle School. It is also the hometown of Laobaigan liquor and the "hometown of Chinese interior painting art".
