Chengde City is located in the northeast of Hebei Province and is an important node city connecting Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Liaoning and Mongolia. The total area of the city is 39500 square kilometers, with jurisdiction over 3 districts (Shuangqiao District, Shuangluan District, Yingshouyingzi Mining Area), 4 counties (Chengde County, Xinglong County, Luanping County, Longhua County), and 3 autonomous counties (Pingquan City, Fengning Manchu Autonomous County, Kuancheng Manchu Autonomous County, Weichang Manchu and Mongolian Autonomous County), with a permanent population of 3.354 million (2022 data). In 2022, the total regional GDP of the city reached 178.05 billion yuan.
Chengde is a famous historical and cultural city in China, a world cultural heritage site, and is known as the "Pearl of Purple Mansions". It is a famous summer resort and tourist city, as well as an important part of the Beijing Tianjin Hebei water conservation functional area and ecological environment support area.
